We’re here, lets chatPets can suffer from the same skin problems that we humans do. Dr Zoo’s Scratch Cream is a moisturiser designed to help address dry and scratchy skin using edible oils and other soothing ingredients such as Aloe Vera, Chamomile and Colloidal Oatmeal, which is a well-known calming ingredient for pet’s skin. This moisturiser is ideal for applying to pet's dry and scratchy areas. We also use natural, concentrated extracts such as Centella Asiatica, for further calming. For the years, our customers have known first-hand the benefits of our cream and thanks to their word-of-mouth recommendations, we have been helping more and more pets.
Apply moisturiser to affected areas as often as required. Not an easy task but try to distract your pet to let the cream soak into the skin as long as possible. If symptoms persist consult your vet. As with all-natural products, patch test first to check for allergies.
Aqua (H₂O’s fancy name), Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Emulsifying Wax, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Cetearyl Alcohol (Plant-Based Emulsifying), Squalane (Olive), Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Flour, Polysorbate 60 (Food-Based Emulsifier), Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice (Aloe Vera), Centella Asiatica (Gotu Kola) Leaf Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract (Chamomile), Xanthan Gum (Food Grade Thickener), Piroctone Olamine (Olamine Salt), Sodium Phytate, Glyceryl Caprylate, Tocopherol (Natural Vitamin E), Allantoin, Humulus Lupulus (Hops) Extract.
Please be aware that the ingredients we use in our formulas may be updated occasionally and therefore vary from time to time. Please refer to the ingredient list on the product packaging for the most up-to-date and relevant list of ingredients.
What can you do if you have an scratchy pet?
First, try to identify where your pet is scratching the most and see if you can find something that would be triggering them to scratch. Then, talk to your vet. If you are a pet parent with a scratchy pet looking for natural alternatives or if you are currently using anti-inflammatory or steroid creams and you want to try something natural, we recommend our Ditch the Itch Pack.
Is this a dog moisturiser?
Yes, this is a moisturiser designed to help address scratchy skin. If you're looking for an all-round dog moisturiser, we recommend you use our Crusty Nose Itchy Toes Balm.
You say your products are safe for dogs & puppies to lick, but Aloe Vera is unsafe for dogs & puppies to ingest?
The main part of Aloe Vera to avoid for dogs is Saponin, which is contained mainly in the leaf. In skincare, a concentrated powder of Aloe Vera is always used. Aloe is mostly water so pure leaf gel isn’t concentred enough to do anything in a skincare product, and the preservation of the raw gel is very difficult. Therefore, our understanding is that ingestion of the whole, fresh, Aloe Vera leaf, including the skin, is what pets need to avoid.
We might not have words like "Earth", "Nature" or "Enviro" in our name, but we think we're one of the most environmentally friendly skin & care companies around. We're always looking for new ways to keep reducing our environmental hoof print, and because this planet means the world to us, we've stepped up our commitment to it and part of that includes RECYCLING.
While all our packaging is recyclable, the reality is that a lot of the rubbish we put in our recycling bins is not kerbside recyclable. That's why we've partnered with TerraCycle to launch our Free Recycling Program. We did this to help all our customers ensure that their empty MooGoo & Dr Zoo bottles and bits get a new lease on life.
This program is free to join and easy to use. Ready to give it a 'GOO and make an impact? That's MOO-sic to our ears. How does it work? So glad you asked. In 4 simple steps you can make help us make a MOO-ve to less in landfill. Sign up today!
