We’re here, lets chatWe didn’t know pets can get itchy but when we heard we knew we could help. That’s when we created our first product ever. To make this Shampoo we use a combination of Coconut and Glucose based cleansers which makes the formula gentle to the skin. Our formula also includes nourishing ingredients such as Aloe Vera and Colloidal Rice Bran to help nourish and calm the skin and Allantoin that help control the microflora of the skin. Also, the natural ingredients we have chosen are safe if ingested by your pet. Our Dr Zoo Shampoo is ideal for itchy pets but is also great for all dogs because natural care is the best care. We can’t promise that your dog will now love baths but we can promise they will look FUR-bulous after each bath! Soft, fluffy, and itchy free.
Previously called 'Natural Calming Shampoo'.
Convince your pet to get in the shower or bath and proceed to wet the fur with clean, warm water. Enjoy the ‘why do you do this to me human?’ look. Apply a considerable amount of shampoo depending on the size of your pet, and massage thoroughly into the coat. Rinse lightly with clean water. You can repeat the process if needed (we know how much they like to roll in dirt).
Aqua (H₂O’s fancy name), Cocamidopropyl Betaine (Coconut-Derived Cleanser), Lauryl Glucoside (Glucose-Derived Cleanser), Decyl Glucoside (Glucose-Derived Cleanser), Sodium Cocoyl Sarcosinate (Coconut-Derived Cleanser), Glycol Distearate (Emollient), Coco Glucoside (Glucose-Derived Cleanser), Glyceryl Oleate (Natural Ester), Laureth-4 (Emulsifier), Oryza Sativa (Colloidal Rice) Bran, Piroctone Olamine (Olamine Salt), Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice (Aloe Vera), Allantoin, Citric Acid (to balance pH).
Please be aware that the ingredients we use in our formulas may be updated occasionally and therefore vary from time to time. Please refer to the ingredient list on the product packaging for the most up-to-date and relevant list of ingredients.
Why does my pet itch? Itching is a very common symptom that we see our customers suffering from every day. Allergies is the most common answer because just like you, your pet can be allergic to things. There are other causes of itchiness such as mosquitoes, yeast, bacterial overgrowth, autoimmune disorders. No matter what the cause, the use of quality skin products on your pet is vital. Our range offers the best natural ingredients that will help rebuild the skin barrier, provide relief from redness and help maintain a healthy coat. Remember, Your vet is the best person to provide a good diagnosis of any skin problem.
Why should I stay away from SLS? Pet's skin can be super sensitive. Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLS) is used in almost all wash products because creates the foaming action but it can also cause irritation to the skin, dryness and in some cases even dandruff. Instead, we use a combination of glucose and coconut-based cleansers. Having a combination of cleansers instead of one helps to reduce the risk of reactions or irritations. ⠀
You say your products are safe for dogs & puppies to lick, but Aloe Vera is unsafe for dogs & puppies to ingest? The main part of Aloe Vera to avoid for dogs is Saponin, which is contained mainly in the leaf. In skincare, a concentrated powder of Aloe Vera is always used. Aloe is mostly water so pure leaf gel isn’t concentred enough to do anything in a skincare product, and the preservation of the raw gel is very difficult. Therefore, our understanding is that ingestion of the whole, fresh, Aloe Vera leaf, including the skin, is what pets need to avoid.
