This cream was developed for the symptomatic relief of mild Cradle Cap in infants and mild Seborrheic Dermatitis in adults, two common skin conditions that often show up on the scalp, face and oily areas of the body. These spots can become red, flaky, itchy and uncomfortable, especially around the hairline, eyebrows, ears, neck or nose.

We combined soothing, moisturising and barrier-repairing ingredients to help calm irritation and support the skin’s natural recovery. The formula sinks in quickly, hydrates deeply and like all of our creams, can be used anywhere on the body, not just the scalp. It also doubles as a nourishing daily moisturiser.

For best results, part damp hair in multiple sections and apply the cream directly to the scalp, focusing on areas that are dry, flaky or irritated. Leave on overnight to allow the ingredients time to work their magic. In the morning, gently dry brush the scalp to lift away flakes - a sign that fresh, healthy skin is coming through. Follow with a natural shampoo. to rinse clean.

What’s the best way to apply the Scalp Cream to the scalp?

For best results, part damp hair in as many places as possible and apply the cream to the scalp. Be sure to focus on areas with dryness or irritation. Leave in overnight then in the morning, gently dry brush your hair to remove any flakes, which indicates fresh skin is appearing. Rinse out with a natural shampoo.

Is this product steroid-free?

Yes, like all MooGoo products, this cream is free from steroids. It’s a gentle, natural option for managing symptoms.

What ingredients do you avoid when making a moisturiser?

There's lots of things you won't find in this cream (or any of our other products) because they were all formulated for family members and close friends. This includes Paraffin and Mineral Oil which derive from petroleum, but are commonly found in commercial moisturisers like Sorbolene. We don’t think putting the stuff that goes into our cars on our skin is the healthiest thing we can do.

We also don’t use any synthetic preservatives such as Parabens and Phenoxyethanol, although they're pretty common too, including with a few brands that claim to be natural (you know who you are!). We avoid a lot of other things too, way too many to list here. We also don't use any useless, trendy ingredients like stem cells from Swiss apples or super power jellyfish DNA, just natural, effective ingredients for healthy skin.

What does "Dermatologically Tested" mean?

You may have seen the term “Dermatologically Tested” on lots of products before, but did you know there’s not an actual definition or regulation for this term? Because that didn’t sit right with us, and because our aim is to make products for people with really sensitive skin, we decided to send a bunch of them off to be tested in an independent lab on 54 people who reported having sensitive skin. The results were given on a scale of 0 to 5 with 0 being no irritation or redness and 5 being a reaction. We’re happy to report that other than one person who had a reaction to the adhesive on the patch and another who found the patches painful to remove, all subjects reported 0 for redness and irritation for all the products we sent for testing.
