The mechanism, in three steps.
Magnesium Hydroxide raises the pH on skin's surface, creating an environment odour-causing bacteria can't thrive in, instead of plugging sweat glands like Aluminium does.
Bicarb Soda is the most common cause of deodorant-related underarm irritation. MooGoo formulas skip it entirely, in both the roll-on and the stick.

Antiperspirants work by blocking sweat with Aluminium salts. Ours doesn't, and we wouldn't want it to, since sweating is a healthy, natural process. Instead, our formula neutralises odour by creating a slightly alkaline environment that odour-causing bacteria can't thrive in. No bacteria, no smell.
Because they're free from Aluminium salts, our deodorants don't leave the chalky residue antiperspirants can. Apply a thin, even layer and let it dry before dressing. If you're wearing tight-fitting tops, get dressed first and apply after.
Some natural deodorants rely on essential oils for scent and antibacterial properties. We prefer a lighter touch, one that won't make you smell like a Tea Tree Forest. Tea Tree and essential oils can also irritate delicate armpit skin, so we steer clear from that. With our formula, you can sweat freely while staying fresh.
Switching from antiperspirant to natural deodorant can take a little patience. Some people notice a few extra days of odour while their sweat glands adjust, usually around two weeks. It's a good sign, not a bad one.
This usually happens if the bottle's been somewhere cold in transit. Run the rollerball under warm water for a few seconds and it'll loosen right up.
The first use can take a bit more effort to push up. Roll the tube back and forth on a flat surface, pressing firmly, then push up from the base. You only need 1-2mm exposed.
Not quite. The name comes from our love of ethically sourced Milk Protein, used in some of our skincare for its skin-elasticity benefits. This range uses Milk of Magnesia instead, a mineral (not dairy) that helps keep odour-causing bacteria in check.
