Having a bit of a rough time and need some help s-MOO-thing things out with your skin? We’ve carefully designed a non-abrasive, facial exfoliant to help you buff away the day and turn over a new leaf to start fresh. We believe that dual exfoliation (meaning organic acid and non-scratchy physical particles) is the most effective way to gently exfoliate. Making soothing and gentle products is always our priority, so we made this suitable for daily use, for all skin types.

Our unique formula contains a very calculated percentage (1.5%) of Salicylic Acid (BHA) which are plant-derived organic acids. These organic acids are attracted to oil and exfoliate deep into the pores. It’s the best thing for a deep cleanse and to address impurities that already exist.

We’ve also used Rice Bran powder to physically exfoliate as it has a very delicate physical structure and contains antioxidant-rich, moisturising proteins. The combination of these two magnificent exfoliating components will leave your skin noticeably fresh, glowing and soft. But wait, there’s more! We’ve also added Bentonite Clay to draw out impurities and leave your skin feeling fresh, and Marshmallow Root to soothe and calm skin.

How do you use the Gentle Exfoliating Powder?

Wash your face thoroughly with your favourite natural cleanser. Dispense a few shakes into wet hands and rub them together to create a paste, then massage over face in circular motions. Add a few more drops of water if the paste is dry and crumbly. Leave on the skin for 5 minutes to create a nourishing mask. Follow with your favourite serum and moisturiser (such as our Night Restoration Cream 75g) for a complete night time skincare routine.

What other products do you recommend for acne or blemish-prone skin?

We have a few other products that specifically address acne and blemishes. Our Blemish Cleansing Moisturiser was designed to help prevent the external causes of acne and breakouts using healthy ingredients (not bleaches like Benzoyl Peroxide). By using it twice a day, it helps prevent oil from oxidising in the pores, as well as cleansing the skin of the type of bacteria that causes breakouts.

Our Tamanu Oil is a lush oil that helps reduce redness and irritation that is common when dealing with acne or blemishes. It’s best applied after washing, but before moisturising. While it might seem counterintuitive to use oil on blemishes, adding oils to the skin actually helps the skin to stop overproducing its own oil, which is one of the main causes for blemishes.

We also recommend our Nourishing Deep Pore Oil Cleanser. Cleansing with oil also sounds counterintuitive but oil dissolves oil, especially hardened oil trapped deep in the pores. This gentle cleanser doesn’t strip the skin of its natural oils, which also helps the skin to stop overproducing its own oil.

Is this product made of Milk?

We aren’t called MooGoo because our cleansers are made of milk. No cleansers or moisturisers are made of milk, or in fact, have any meaningful amount of milk in them at all. Despite what labels may claim. If you think about it, putting milk in a moisturiser and then sitting it on the shelf for a year or so would make it very smelly! The only exception to this is our Goats Milk & Hydrating Buttermilk Cleansing Bars, which go through a saponification process to make them stable.   We do also use Milk Protein in some of our products, like in our bestselling Milk Wash,  because the protein helps with skin elasticity. Milk Protein doesn’t go rancid, it is the fats and sugars in milk that go sour.

Returns

MooGoo has a 100% customer satisfaction policy. If you’re not satisfied with any product(s) you purchased from our website, we’ll happily organise a refund or exchange. Requests for returns and exchanges should be made within 60 days of the original order date and the product(s) must be substantially unused.
