The Ingredients We Love

The Ingredients We Love

We believe that natural ingredients can do wonders for your skin. Our products are designed with natural ingredients that are proven to be gentle on our delicate skin and that help with our skin health. We wanted to offer a quick guide to some of ingredients we use and why we chose to use them.

Natural Oils

Jojoba Oil – This is one you have probably seen a lot of in skincare and cosmetics. It’s a natural antibacterial, antiviral, anti-inflammatory and hypoallergenic oil which is used to soothe and pamper. Not only is it rich in vitamins A, D & E and essential fatty acids, it also has powerful antioxidants properties.

Castor Seed Oil - The anti-inflammatory properties of castor oil make it great at reducing acne. Ricinoleic acid can inhibit growth in the bacteria that cause acne. The fatty acids in castor oil can also promote the growth of healthy skin tissue, making it helpful in restoring uneven skin tones. Castor oil has a low comedogenic score. This means it is unlikely to clog pores in the skin and reduces the risk of developing blackheads, making it appropriate for use on sensitive skin.

Nigella Sativa Oil - You will be hard-pressed to find a oil more nourishing than this one, one of the most appealing benefits of this oil is its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, which work to reduce clogged pores and control oil, as well as tame redness and soothe irritation, including eczema. It’s also packed with essential fatty acids and anti-oxidants.

Leptospermum Scoparium (Manuka) Branch/Leaf Oil - This oil is known for its healing and repairing benefits. The antibacterial, anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory properties of this remarkable oil combat skin irritation and infections, including acne-causing bacteria. It's also highly anti-inflammatory, which makes it great for soothing rashes and other irritations.

Borage (Starflower) Oil – This oil is exceptionally high in gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) and other essential fatty acids, making it an ideal choice for dry and irritated skins, as well as sensitive and acne-prone skin types.

Extracts

Magnolia Acuminata Extract – This ingredient is a must if you feel the hands of time ticking away. It can help to prevent the loss of skin elasticity and therefore help with the effects of aging. It’s also great to reduce reddening of the skin.

Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Fruit Extract - Grapefruit is a rich source of the antioxidant’s vitamin C and lycopene, which have both been proven to protect the skin from UV-induced free radical damage. Additionally, vitamin C is known to stimulate collagen production, as well as reduce hyperpigmentation. Grapefruit extract is also reported to have antiseptic and skin-conditioning properties.

Other Skin Loving Ingredients

D-Alpha Tocopherol (Natural Vitamin E) - Natural Vitamin E is great for the skin, is a wonderful antioxidant and leaves the skin feeling soft and fresh as well as having free-radical scavenger properties. There are also a number of studies showing it can slow the ageing process.

Shea Butter - High concentrations of fatty acids and vitamins make shea butter an ideal cosmetic ingredient for softening skin. Shea butter also has anti-inflammatory and healing properties.

Zinc Oxides, Titanium Oxides – One of the main reasons we love this ingredient in our products are the SPF values. Protecting your face from UV is a must-do to avoid premature aging and permanent sun damage, therefore having SPF in your cosmetics is essential.

We hope this has spread some light on our ingredients lists and some of the reasons we choose to use what we do. If you have any questions about any other ingredients we haven’t covered above, be sure to get in touch with us at makeup@moogoo.com.au
