Acne Cleansing Moisturiser

Add to Milk Pail

Product Description

Ban the Bleach!
Almost all Acne Creams use Benzoyl Peroxide Bleach. This is why hair will bleach to an orange colour when in contact with most Acne creams. Bleaches are cheap but not the first choice in keeping skin looking young and healthy. Acne is usually around for a short time, but the skin on our face is forever. So we need to take care of it.

Acne has a number of causes, including sebum (skin's oil) becoming rancid as well as bacteria on the skin. This is why an effective cleansing cream, that targets both contributors to Acne using natural ingredients is so much better than bleach in our opinion. That is why we set to work trying to find a solution that was good for the skin.

MooGoo's Acne Cleansing Cream takes a new approach. It is a cleansing cream that also works as a leave on moisturiser.  This keeps skin healthy and young looking by using a high quality natural cream packed full of anti-oxidants, rather than chemicals. Other parts of the formulation help prevent excess oils on the skin becoming rancid which can be a cause of Acne as well as cleanse the skin of bacteria.

We suggest applying the Acne Cleansing Cream each morning and night after washing and while the skin is still slightly moist. Everyone’s skin is different, but of our customer Guinea Pig testers, 13 out of 15 reported real results after around a week. The cream is not designed for instant results on existing acne as bleach can do, but to help prevent the need for bleaching products after a week.

It may cost a few dollars more than a bleach based cream, but healthy skin is priceless.

This is a radically different way of helping acne prone skin without causing damage. If you would like to see if this product may suit you, please visit our facebook site here which has the comments from our acne prone volunteers who tested the cream for us when we first formulated it. We hope it will help you decide if it is for you.

Ingredient Description
Aqua When we were told that we have to call our purified water “Aqua” we thought they were kidding. But we can’t fight bureaucracy. So we aren’t trying to be fancy, but we do need to call our water “Aqua” sometimes.
Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera Juice) Most people already know the cooling and soothing benefits of Aloe Vera. We loved it before we made skin care, and we love it in our creams.
Cetearyl Alcohol (and) Polysorbate 60

Creams are made from a mix of purified water and oils so as to be more moisturising than oil alone. To hold water and oils together, they need an emulsifying wax. We use a plant based wax that allows the water and oils to stay together.

A lot of our customers are small. So small in fact that they have sometimes mistaken the creams their mums or dad’s put on the nappy change table for food. So we always choose the most edible ingredients we can. Polysorbates are used in a lot of foods like Mayonnaise, Ice-cream etc to hold the cream and water together. We use them to help with the same thing.

Squalane One of our favourite moisturising oils. It helps leave your skin moisturised and dewy. It is good for all skin types, including acne prone skin.

Our body produces a small amount of squalane, but the amount diminishes when we get older, starting in our twenties. Squalane is required for our skin to keep it moisturised and fight aging. It is also a unique antioxidant from olives that protects our skin from free-radical damages.

Since Olive squalane's composition is very similar to human sebum, it can penetrate our skin very quickly to help our skin to fight dryness. It enhances skin elasticity and moisture retention.
Prunus armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil Apricot kernel oil is a finely textured oil and is easily absorbed by the skin, without leaving it feeling oily or greasy. Apricot kernel oil is particularly helpful for dehydrated, delicate, mature and sensitive skin and it helps to soothe inflammation. Apricot Kernel Oil is rich in oleic and linoleic essential fatty acids.
Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil Grape Seed Oil is light oil and is excellent for moisturising the skin. Grape seed oil is is very high in antioxidants and contains high amounts of vitamin E, vitamin C, Beta-Carotene, and vitamin D.
Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil Jojoba Oil is one of the most moisturising skin care oils around and is one of our all-time favourite moisturising oils. It is light and sinks into the skin easily. Curiously, Jojoba Oil is actually a liquid wax. It is also very non comedogenic meaning that it does not clog the pores. It makes for a good conditioner too. It helps keep the hair shaft smooth and soft. Most hair conditioners use silicone to coat the hair (cyclomethicone or dimethicone), however Jojoba Oil is much more natural and moisturising and doesn’t cause so much build-up.
Glycerin (and) Camellia Sinensis Leaf (Green Tea) Extract Green Tea Extract. Green Tea is well known for its strong antioxidant and anti- irritant actives.
Dimethyl sulfone (MSM Organic Sulphur) MSM is an Organic Sulphur compound which is present in every cell of the body. MSM has been proven to be a great skin softener and soothing compound for irritated skin. It is non-toxic and promotes healthy skin for all types.
Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil Sunflower Oil is rich in vitamins A, D, especially vitamin E and essential fatty acids. Sunflower oil has a light texture making it very comfortable on babies’ skin.
Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride We used coconut oil as a stabiliser, it also helps to moisturise the skin
Hydrolyzed Milk Protein Cognis research found that milk protein in a cream increased skin elasticity by around 20% compared to the same cream without. Skin elasticity ensures lines and wrinkles are minimized after any movement of the skin.

For people with Lactose intolerance this is no problem. However for people that are allergic to Milk Protein itself, this ingredient would not be suitable. If in doubt, all natural products should be patch tested before use.
Allantoin Comfrey Root has long been associated with soft, healthy skin. Allantoin is a skin conditioner that has been purified from comfrey. Allantoin is thought to help maintain healthy skin by encouraging the removal of dead skin cells. It is also promoted fro preventing lines and wrinkles by assisting in skin repair.
Whey Protein and Butter Acids We use an ingredient that combines some fatty acids with a type of whey protein which acts to control various flora on the skin. This is a natural and health way of helping acne prone skin.
Piroctone Olamine Non-irritating, it helps keep the cream free from bacteria and mould.
Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate Anti-Oxidants help prevent skin oxidisation and so in theory can help prevent the signs of ageing. The difficulty is developing ingredients that can stay stable long enough to penetrate the skin to work their magic. Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate is the latest and most expensive form of the Vitamin C anti-oxidant. It also helps with pigmentation. A typical study is shown here.
Penthenol Panthenol (Vitamin B5) works as a humectant by attracting water into the skin cells, retaining moisture deep within the skins tissues and helping to restore the skins moisturising properties.
Polygonum Cuspidatum (Japanese Knotweed) (Resveratrol) A new ingredient, Resveratrol may be an important additive to skin products to help stop the skins natural sebum from oxidising.
Glyceryl Caprylate Glyceryl Caprylate has an excellent efficacy against bacteria and yeast and as such makes a great natural preservative for skin care.
Vanilla Planifolia Fruit Extract Although some claim skin firming properties, we really use this as an edible way to make our creams smell nice. We use Hops to preserve our cream.
Pyrus Malus (Apple) Extract Pyrus Malus (Apple) Extract which contains a high level of Vitamin C, and a wide array of beneficial trace minerals.
D-Alpha-Tocopherol (Natural Vitamin E) We use the more expensive, natural Vitamin E in our creams, not synthetic. Natural Vitamin E has up to twice the bioavailability of synthetic forms. Vitamin E has antioxidant action as well as free radical scavenger properties. Abundant assortments of researchers from diversified medical fields have theorized that this can slow the aging process. (Sources: Skin Pharmacology and Applied Skin Physiology, November-December 2001, and Free Radical Biology and Medicine, October 1999).
Humulus Lupulus (Hops) Extract Cosmetic creams need to stay pure from spoilage. That is why ingredients like Parabens etc are used by a lot of companies. These work great at achieving their aim, but a lot of our “customers” prefer not to use them. We worked for over a year to develop a preservation system based on Hop Extract. All our creams have now been checked for preservative efficacy using the British Pharmacopeia test. We are very proud that we are probably one of the first companies to develop this natural and edible anti-bacterial system into our creams.

This is a compliment rather than an enquiry...just want to say thank-you for the quality and price of your product that does what it says. I've never given feedback about a product before which says a lot. I have tried countless celebrity endorsed products as well as expensive salon exclusive brands and have probably spent over $50,000 over the years fighting my acne from 12-30yrs! Moogoo at its affordable price, has reduced my acne by and I started using it about so I'm sure improvements will continue. I use the acne cleansing cream, the oil cleanser and rose-hip oil, as well as the tinted lip-balm. Simple beauty makes me feel so free!

Leah – WA, Australia

I can honestly say the acne cleansing cream is THE BEST product I've used. It really helps keep my face clear and doesn't make my look greasy by lunch time like so many other creams on the market.

Thanks again

It has been great today being able to put the eczema balm on Jake. My other son Ben has mild eczema and is also using it. What a difference it has made already. Jake started school today and I know that your creams are going to improve his school life considerably. Since putting the cream on this morning we have had no itchy episodes!!! You have been fab in getting the parcel to me as quick as possible and we are all singing Moogoo's praises. Thankyou once again and hopefully I will be able to pass more customers onto you through Jakes dermatologist .

Look forward to ordering from you in the future.

Hi MooGoo

Just about to fly overseas for a couple of weeks so I wanted to let you know  how I was going with the cleansing cream for acne.

I've been using it for a week and a half, and I am really enjoying using it  instead of my benzoyl peroxide treatment. It feels better on the skin, more  moisturising but it doesn't cause my skin to get oily which is fantastic!

I've actually had great results with my existing spots, the bumps have  flattened out and the redness has died down a lot.. No new spots have come up,  which is great considering the amount of stress I've been under lately!

My existing spots haven't gone completely but its only been just over week and  I know from experience that when I use a new product on them I need to wait at  least a month before I see the full effects.   I've taken some  'before' shots and I"ll sent in some 'after' shots of my spotty areas when  I get back from my trip - but so far so good!

Thanks again for giving me the opportunity to test your cream!

Hi MooGoo

I think the cream works. I mainly focused on my jaw line as this is where most of my acne is. I do have some scaring, but the new acne and redness seems to have gone! I really hope you are able to produce it as I will be buying it!

Thank you again

Hi MooGoo

Sorry for the late email - I have been meaning to touch base and kept forgetting about it. I do sincerely apologize. I am really enjoying using the cream. I have been very pleasantly surprised on how good it is. My initial thought was that it would probably too oily for my skin, but it has been great. It is not oily at all and my skin has really been liking it. I have had a few blemishes come up and I believe the cream has helped heal them quite quickly. I have not used any pimple creams, toners or cleansers for the last couple of weeks - only the milk wash and the Resveratrol cream. When it is released to the market, I will certainly purchase it as I am very impressed.

Thank you once again for selecting me for the trial. Once I have finished all of the sample I will touch base again and let you know how it has gone.

Kindest regards,

Hi there MooGoo

So far so good - my daughter's acne is looking so much better. The redness is a lot less than it was and the breakouts are not as often. This stuff is really good.  Can't wait to be able to buy it from our chemist.
